Identification of satellites from astrometric positions

Astronomers often encounter satellites on their images. Sometimes it is more or less obvious that the object is artificial, sometimes not. To avoid spending time with the follow up of the unknown object, which could also be a nearby asteroid, this page allows to attempt identification of satellites which are listed in the ALL_TLE.TXT file, found on http://www.tle.info/Data/ALL_TLE.ZIP

The calculations are performed using code made by Bill Gray from Project Pluto, somewhat modified to provide more data to the users. The original distribution site for this code is at http://www.projectpluto.com/sat_id.htm
